Loboto-Me
Fish Crazy
Ok, here's the story...
I gave my Mom In Law my 10 gal tank (reluctantly) and she's now ready to set it up.
I have a 29 gal tank that's already established and cycled.
I'm in need to do a water change so I was thinking.... If I put my old water in a bucket, collected some of the stone gravel from my tank, and gave her my used filter media, would this allow her to have fish right away?
The only problem I can actually see is on my side of the tank. I'd be getting rid of lots of my good bacteria through giving away my filter media, and gravel.
Ok, what if I put new filter floss in my filter along with the old stuff I have now for a few weeks? Then gave her the old one and kept the new one? Think that would work?
I'm wanting to be extra careful with her tank because I'll be giving her several of my fish! (I'm slowly thinning out fish to get ready for a long distance move)
So? What are your thoughts? What have I left out?
