Hello all,

So I've currently got a 20 and 10 set up and doing wonderfully, my only bad luck has been with plants... :-/

Anyway, I have a one gallon, that's right, a one gallon. And I'd like to set up something nice, I don't need a fish in there, maybe a snail or some sort of shrimp?

I'm looking for ideas on substrate, lighting, filtration, stocking, plants, etc etc etc.

I know this is just crazy being that it's only a ONE gallon but I'm sick of it sitting there not being used and I think it'd look nice on my desk here!

So, any suggestions anyone? Advice?

how about a really heavily planted tank with some red crystal shrimp See here an arcadia arc pod (very nice and easy to use piece of kit. some diy co2 and some form of rich substrate and your away

Yeah, I agree with Ian, have a nice planted nano. :good: If you go for snails, make sure you get plant-friendly ones, but not apple snails as they are too big/messy for that tank.

Hey, thanks a bunch for the response!

I like the idea of a planted tank like that.

few questions for you though, if you'd be so kind...

What's an "arcadia arc pod"? Sorry, I'm kind of stupid with some of this stuff!

As far as filtration goes, how could that be done? And possible lighting? And what specific type of substrate?

Sorry, but this is my first attempt at something like this!

Arc pod Great for small tanks i have on on my betta tank.
you could use a small internal filter in the tank, or eve a power head feeding into a tub behind or underneath the tank and use it as a sump to house the filter and heater ect...

as far as substrates go i`m looking at the ADA substrate for my planted its a complete substrate so no need to mix it with any sand ect, but its quite expencive i think you`l be spending 15 quid on a bag that will do your tank 4 times over.
