I just discovered that I have about 50' of 2' wide 1/4" thick acrylic plexiglass, I was wondering if I could make a few tanks out of this? If so what would be the maximum size (and max size if I made braces for the tank...)? If I can this will make life nice since I couldn't find the 30g tank I was looking for (instead I found all this plexiglass)

1/4 is really thin and flexible, your tank should be well braced, probably with a top brace, and no more than about 12 inches high.

I would have figured flexing would be good as long as it didn't break (like flexing would give to pressure and not break...) no more then 12" tall eh? how long you figure I could do?

Nonot nailed it. The length isnt as important, if it's goin to be really long, I would use 1 or more vertical braces also. If the piece id 50' long, go to a glass and plastic producer, and have them band the corners. That way, you will have now bowing, except at the top which can be fixed with a top brace.

If you want to cut the pieces, you can find plexiglass cement which will melt the sides together.

ok yep did some research and sounds like I can make it 13" tall from my research, so yeah I'll just make it wide and long (maybe 3 or 4' x 2' and 1' tall) think I'd need a brace for something that long or wide? thanks again for the info.
