pleco white spot

My rubberlip pleco has white spots from his tail, up his back. They look almost like polka dots. He's really hard to get a good look at, but I noticed something much smaller today, so whatever it is, it's moving fast. I've had him for a couple months and he's always seemed very gold glittery...
