planted tank lighting

I've been thinking of getting a lid for my 10 gallon tank and the aqueon hood is the only one that fits (aqueon 20" full deluxe hood) the only LEDs that are meant for plants that fit it are the colormax LEDs. So my question is of the colormax can actually grow plants? I have some ludwigia...
