so in the end the best way to remove those mirror frame strip was to use the thinnest guitar string available, its also called piano wire at hardware stores, you slide it behind the mirror strip and saw up and down while applying pressure, it easily cuts thru the silicone. a blade or razor did...

the old owner has siliconed mirror strips all around the tank, it looks reaal cheap. i kinda manages to gently break the mirro off, and scrape most the silicone but there is still a very thin layer showing. will try the hair dryer might be an idea. thanx
