I have a female albino bristlenose and she'll eat any of the foods you've mentioned. Also, make sure there is some wood in the tank; I'm not sure if bristlenoses eat the actual wood, or merely graze on the alage that grows there, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Well, he's still alive. But worsening all the time. Tnoight I have noticed what I think is a lump growing underneath/behind his jaw, so I'm assuming this has something to do with it. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact he won't be with me for much longer. :-(

True SAEs should be fine, as far as I'm aware. It's the fish that look very similar to them, or the CAE that are suposed to be aggressive.

It's funny you mention the Shark and the Raphael Cat. The shark will chase everything else in the tank except the cat. As they're nocturnal, it spends most of the daylight hours inside a fake rock ring ornament in the tank. From time to time the shark will go inside too and just sit next to it...
