    Albino Bristle Nose

I have a female albino bristlenose and she'll eat any of the foods you've mentioned. Also, make sure there is some wood in the tank; I'm not sure if bristlenoses eat the actual wood, or merely graze on the alage that grows there, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

    Albino Bristlenose

Whilst picking up a few bits and pieces today, I succumbed (again) to the temptation of bringing fish home with me. In this case, an albino bristlenose. I think/hope it's a female, about 2 inches or so long and not a bristle in sight. Is the fish mature enough yet to tell one way or the other...

    Sick Betta?

He died some time during the night. Thanks to those who offered their help.

    Sick Betta?

Well, he's still alive. But worsening all the time. Tnoight I have noticed what I think is a lump growing underneath/behind his jaw, so I'm assuming this has something to do with it. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact he won't be with me for much longer. :-(

    Sick Betta?

Nope, no other physical signs of anything being wrong. If he weren't just lying down, he'd look perfectly healthy. Can I use table salt, or does it need to be special aquarium salt? And how much?

    Sick Betta?

I gave him some bloodworm a few days ago, but he wasn't really interested. Now he's spending his time laid on top of the filter, on his side, so that he can just lie there and breathe from the surface. He's getting worse, I actually thought he was dead this morning and had to prod him gently to...

    Sick Betta?

For the last few weeks, maybe a month at most my betta seems to have gotten incredibly lethargic. He spends most of his time sitting on the bottom of the tank, particularly under the filter. I originally thought it might have had something to do with the recent heat we'd been experiencing here...

    Filter Current

I've had my betta a couple months now, but recently I replaced the filter - the tank was an old one my girlfriend used to use and was no longer needed. Anyway, it still had a working filter, but it was a bit ropey to say the least. Anyway, I recently bought a fluval 1+ for the tank, but this...

    Fish with no eyes

I just picked up four of these a couple days ago. The lfs has had the same four in their tanks ever since I started using the place so I thought it was about time someone gave them a home. One or two of my albino tiger barbs seemed to have taken a dislike to them, but the blind fish seem able...

    My First Betta

A little later than promised, but here we are none the less - much better pictures of the afore mentioned betta, who also has a name at last: Mutley! :D And here's a quick snap of his home He seems to like the diver's helmet, even though it takes up a fair bit of space. Several times...

    Stocking Level

True SAEs should be fine, as far as I'm aware. It's the fish that look very similar to them, or the CAE that are suposed to be aggressive.

    Stocking Level

It's funny you mention the Shark and the Raphael Cat. The shark will chase everything else in the tank except the cat. As they're nocturnal, it spends most of the daylight hours inside a fake rock ring ornament in the tank. From time to time the shark will go inside too and just sit next to it...

    Stocking Level

I haven't bought any fish for my main tank for quite a few weeks now, due to one reason or another. But this weekend I'm thinking of picking up some more stuff (What I already have in the tank is in my sig). I'm leaning towards getting a small-ish school of cherry barbs, about 6 most likely...

    My First Betta

I should hopefully be able to get some better pictures later in the week as I've managed to convince my girlfriend to lend me her camera which is far superior to my own. For a start, it actually has a zoom function, so some detail will actually be visible. What you can't see in the pic is that...

    My First Betta

After freeing up my 3 gallon following it's temporary hospital use, I picked up what I'd intended it for in the first place: a betta. I've been doing a bit of checking around all the LFS the past few weeks, and the selection of Bettas around here it at the moment hasn't been particularly good -...

    Hospital Tank

Just when you thought things couldn't get any more frustrating... After moving the barb to the hospital tank and adding the medication for finrot to the water, I've had an outbreak of Ich in the main tank. So, I've treated for that too (and have to add a second dose of the treatment later...

    Hospital Tank

Well, I put the barb in the tank last evening. I'm a little concerned, though. Although tiger barbs are a shoaling fish, and factor in the stress of the move, I would have thought she'd at least swim around a little bit. All she's done so far is hover underneath the filter. Is it possible this...

    Hospital Tank

I noticed recently that one of my green tiger barbs is missing quite a large section of tailfin. My girlfriend kindly donated her old 3 gallon (UK) tank so that I could 'hospitalize' it for a bit. The tank is all up and running, and the filter media had been originally in this same tank, then...

    The Quest For True SAEs

As of this evening, the imposters have been evicted from the tank and now have residency elsewhere. Almost immediately, the SAEs have become more active in their swimming about the tank. I guess they were getting harrassed more than I originally thought. It probably took me over half an hour to...

    The Quest For True SAEs

Just over a week ago, I went to the LFS that I usually use to pick up what I thought were SAEs. However, a few days after I got them home I began to doubt they were what I had been led to believe. After a bit of reading (thanks to a link in another thread) it became apparent that what I...

    'Yello

Hm, seems angelfire doesn't like remote linkage. Oh well, I uploaded the image to my AOL directory, so it should be visible now. I hope.

Hi all, I've been browsing these forums for a while now, I figured it was about time I actually registered. ;) I'm in the process of stocking my first ever tank and so far all is going reasonably well. No deaths...so far! :look: My pride and joy: I hope to take some better pictures soon...
