That's not the problem, I would have noticed that. There are so many plants that the betta can't usually see the guppies. Also, the guppies all stick together and when the Betta finds them they swim away and the Betta can't catch them, they get lost in the plants. BUT MAINLY, if you were right...

Great job, I like it when the plants are thick enough so the fish can hide. Tough job keeping them healthy. The only thing I would have done different is a sand bottom but I think that about every tank :hyper:

I have to agree about the castle. That's a beautiful tank, so natural looking, I love it! Until you get to the castle thing, it's not natural but that's my opinion. Nice work, nice tank.

Nice, you have my fav tetra, the harlequin. At least that's what I called the fish in this picture back in the 70's. I was not able to get these anywhere when I lived in Hawaii. Now I live in Milwaukee and hope to get a tank up soon. I hope I can find some here.

It really looks like there isn't enough light. Not only should you add a second lamp, but you should paint the wood the lamp is mounted on. Find a good reflective color, white works great but there are paints meant to make a surface reflective, kind of a silver color.

I like the way you set up your old tank, you've got great taste. I can tell this is going to be a something to be proud of. I can't wait to see the finished project, but in the meantime I'm enjoying watching the progress.

I would keep them, if it's a money thing, they'd probably be ok in a 10 gallon for a long time. Fill it about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up with water, then set up rocks that go above the water line. my 2¢ worth

I understand saving money, but how much would it cost you to repair water damage you your house, furniture, etc.. by an exploding? It's better that you got a tank meant for water, the other one would be too risky.

I think the key word is "you". I could be wrong, but I think he's referring to water your going to drink not add to your tank. If your going to add it to your tank of course you won't put it in the fridge. This was my thought on what he said, it's what I do, I put a gallon bottle in the fridge...

Nice move going with sand. I find that plant do much better because it's easier to root and the white sand reflects light back up increasing the total amount they get. Nice tank :nod:

I have one suggestion, that bundle of plants in front on this picture looks nice, but it would probably look better if you un-bundle them and spread them out a little bit, and they would grow better if spread out.

I bought 2 yellow labs a month ago. One had a black stripe that runs down it's top fin like the one in this picture The other does not have that black stripe, did my LFS screw me (there were a few without the strip)?
