    Stocking Strategy For New Tank

Yes - I've backed off the killi's for that very reason. I like angels a lot too, but I have a lot of moving water in my tank and I think angels need quieter water???? So I'm still searching looking at a colorful, large-ish but "peaceful" cichlid. And/or pearl gouramis.

    Updated Stocking Strategy

That was quick and meaningful feedback. Couple of corrections/additions to my post: Phase II is listed twice, the second should read Phase III. Phase IVa - I do have a planned tank upgrade when the loaches start getting big, I know they need a larger tank. With that in mind, please keep the...

    Stocking Strategy For New Tank

They do look quite nice. Also, how about yoyo loaches? If I decide not to keep the TB, a) what do you recommend for mid-water, b) Does that open up the selection of loaches a bit (understanding that clowns aren't an option?

    Stocking Strategy For New Tank

I'm busy doing a fish-in cycle of my 70g tank with 5 Danios and 4 Tiger Barbs. At this stage, I want to begin planning a long term stocking strategy, to be implemented gradually after the cycling is complete, and need a bit of help with this. As background: a) For filtration I have a Fluval...

    Spiral Swimming - New Tank

Yes I was unfortunately, but only the first group from the big box store. I'll remember your advice for next time (after the cycle is complete) but that wouldn't explain why one of the next batch from the smaller lfs dies since they were in darkness all the way home.

    Spiral Swimming - New Tank

Wow... thanks for all the advice. This is an active forum! pH, I'll leave alone as suggested. Salt, I'm beginning to regret. It was recommended by a setup article I read, and I recall the same advice from many years back when I had aquariums too. I think I'll just let the frequent water...

    Spiral Swimming - New Tank

Hi all, So I just set up a 70g freshwater tank. After a day settling in (I added the appropriate quantity of dechlorinator, plus some salt for freshwater tanks), I decided it time to buy some hardy fish to begin the cycling process. I put in 3 Zebra Danios (they came with a second, smaller tank...
