Hey everyone i have noticed some tiny white spots on my cardinal tetras i was just wondering what this could be as there is more and more of the spots every time i wake up. I`ve experienced white spot with black mollys so i don`t think its that. Any help much appreciated ;)

You MUST feed your pleco other things as even if ure tank was full of algae it prolly still wouldn`t survive try the plec pellet food and the wafers.

Yeah my local fish shop told me to do 25% water changes every 3-4 weeks as well must be the norm ;)

i would leave the water changes a week longer than normal normally bacteria, carbon dioxide (amount of fish,algae,plants living creatures you have in the tank contribute greatly) and waste like fish flakes can contribute to the level of acidity in the tank i think. ;) I checked my ph today...

Changing water is fine just don`t remove too much bacteria i suggest doing half of one side of the tank for a period then 3-4 weeks later do the other half.

Yep seems fine to me :D Stick to small -medium size fish no biggies and just up the water changes to once every 3 weeks or whatever it is you do just now. Smaller fish require a lot less oxygen

Personally i think you shouldn`t remove the crabs claws and let nature take its place ;) This way its fairer altho the puffer should always win but taking the claws off is basically as bad as killing it yourself :/

Will they be ok with my tetras? Yeah i have lots of hiding places in my tank mostly decorative rock and plants ALso i hear they have some sort of beak i don`t know as i don` know ANYTHING about them? Finally what sort of conditions do they like? :P

I`m thinking about getting a pair of dwarf puffers i`m just wondering what kind of water conditions they like wether it be soft and acidic or hard and alkaline ;) Any suggestions are welcome.

Good to hear that You could gradually lower the ph over a few weeks and the fish would be fine I have the opposite problem my ph is TOO low! :crazy: well was i think its sorted now thanks to calcium plus :thumbs:

My favourite fish would have to be the Peacock Gudgeon/Goby (whatever the hell it is lol) I would have a 40 gal tank with about 40 of them lol it would look really neat!

I`ve kept Bettas for a couple of years and i like them they have individual personalities but i`ve heard rave reviews about the dwarf puffers so id try them m8 :)

OMG corrosive we m ust be on the same wavelength here I started off with a rena filstar in my tank which i c you have then i upgraded to a fluval 2+ and ran them in conjuntion for a few weeks before taking the rena filstar out and squeezing all the bacteria back into the tank from it. :lol:

Hello everyone things are going great with the tank i`ve now got some calcium plus and i have been putting in a handfull for the past 2 days. I will do this for 7 days then keep the rest and this should get my ph to around 7 (neutral) Recently down at the fish store some tests have been done...

After 2/3 months they should be ok to go out into the wild world of your main tank :D Apart from that you`re doing fine i used Liquifry for mines then fed them extremely well crushed up flake food 3 weeks later. Good Luck man :cool:

Yup i agree 10 gal tank for a pair of kribs is just fine.

This looks like there is a disease in the tank that attacks the fishes swimbladder. It could`ve been brought in with the last purchase u made from ure LFS. Go down to the swimbladder part in this link. http://fish.orbust.net/fish-disease.html Hope that helps m8.

Don`t use the play sand as the sand particles are too thin. I`ve heard the solution to this before i just can`t remember but there was a particular type of sand that had thicker particles so i would look into this first. :D

Even 30% daily is ridiculous I do a 30% water change every 3-4 weeks and ure doing it every day its just too much buddy :crazy: I`m almost positive its a problem with ure ph level being too high (alkaline) or too low (acidic) as this causes fins to burn and to look rotted as well as burns on...

40 and 50% water changes so often are bad for the fishes stress level very bad which causes ammonia and it takes out too much good bacteria also bad for ammonia. I believe ure tank is suffering from a low ph being too acidic so i would add a spoonful of bicarbonate of soda to the tank and if...
