Would This Be Okay For A 10 Gallon Tank

Dwarf gourami can get nippy in a 10 Gal. They also get quite large, compared to the guppies. As it matures I would expect to see nipped fins. I would go for the Honey Gourami instead.

    New Fish Ideas?

I would have to plummet for the Sterbai's. I have 9 in my tank and they are very entertaining. Make sure you get at least 5-6 - they love schooling! Hatchet fish are a possibility as well.

What Should I Add Next, If Anything?

I got striped kuhlis, they're very unique and also cute but i'm not sure whether they'll be happy with angelfish as i bought angels and they turned out to be aggressive and almost attacked my kuhlis. If you decide to get them make sure you get 5 more and that way you'll see them a lot more and...

    Eye Infection

Are you sure this is connected to the injury? Do you have a photo? I once had a boseman rainbow that had a bad eye - turned out to be Popeye caused by a parasitic fluke. Suggested treatment was isolation, freq water changes and a bacterial antibiotic treatment added to the water. This failed...

My Fish Died In Less Than 24 Hours

Sad to read about your fish - know how that feels. I am going to ask, as everyone will too. What size is your tank? Did you use any test kits before the fish went in - if so, what were the readings. Ammonia? Nitrite? Temp? PH? - and Nitrate, but probably not important at the moment. Are you...

    Stocking Advise Needed

More Zebra Danios, (3-5) and Hatchets. Agree with JJ - Danios will school better if there are more of them. And with Tizer re: Hatchets. They are fun to watch at the top of the tank.

    Changing Substrate In Established Tank

An update. I completed the change over from gravel to Eco Complete and black sand. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 10, PH 7.5, Temp 26C. All did not go to plan though - does it ever when fish are concerned?? Of the 6 angels I had, they were all fine in their temporary home, but three of them...

    Changing Substrate In Established Tank

Thanks for vote of confidence. Only worry I have is that sand will mix in with gravel over time. I know some will, but I would like to keep a 'beach' effect in one corner if I can.

    Changing Substrate In Established Tank

Hi all, I have an established 212L tank, stocked with fish, fully cycled, all occupants happy. (I will try to put up a picture of the current layout as soon as I can) For my sins I have decided to disrupt their peaceful lives and change the substrate. Ok - the problem - how to do this without...

    New Member

Hi all, I have kept fish for around 12 years now. For the last year or so I let my 4ft tank run down to only a few straggler fish left. My wife came up with a fantastic birthday pressie idea - she would pay for me to aquascape/restock my tank!! Well, I now need some advice from those that...
