it depends how deep the sand is, and it does happen. wile moving a few plants ive had a load of bubbles come up out of the sand and the gas stunk.

what media do you have currently? if its the eheim stuff you dont need to replace it. only the white pad. personally i would stick to the standard eheim stuff i run it in all my filters and the water is always crystal clear.

mines been like it for years, nothing is cracked an its worse than your one. so dont think much to worry about :)

just use an old credit card, works loads better

it wont make any difference, set the temp to what you want it at, all it will do is warm up the water quicker, the thermostat will keep it to tht temp. will prob use less electric as wont need to be on. i have a 150w inline heater on a 25litre tank with no issues.

"highlite" is just juwels name for the t5's, nature,colour etc are just different colour temperature bulbs they are all 45w

doesn't make any difference, choose which one you prefer the colour of.

they re-branded them and sell them without a light, they are in my local store.

as been said all ready algae is there for a reason, a good guide on why and how to cure it would be better and more effective as it would go, not cover it up for a week or so.

super glue gel, (cynocrylyte) is what ive attached all mine with and its growing great :) can even use it underwater with no ill effects

I have an eheim ecco, its great, very quiet and very cheap to run. also has a good flow rate and hardly needs cleaning. Its about five years old now an never had any issues.

also have a chair handy if you look up the price of high end shrimp :lol:

pretty much, also the more solid the white colouring the more desirable, theres also things like Pure Red Line but i'm still trying to learn it all myself :)

@phoenixgsd lower grades are not so sensitive and a lot easier to keep :) and thanks for putting the pictures up they look good and breeding well by the amount of young, but i'm after some higher grade ones :)

sounds good im only in plymouth so wouldnt have to travel far in post :) what grades do you currently have, and any pics :)

most aquatic plants come from marsh lands or river banks so grow both under an out of water, so anything that can support its self will grow out if you let it, or use the pots you fix near the top of the tank.
