Hi all, well as above.....our big goldfish in our work pond has got a major case of dropsy....and what appears to be pop eye. I have taken him out of the pond and put him in a quarentine tank under my desk at reception :P What do you suggest I do next? Or is he on his way to fishy heaven...

^^^ Thank you!!! I actually went to my LFS to get some javafern but they are closed today for New Years (which is understandable) I will be keeping ALL my lights on now...no wonder....haha and no wonder I have so much algae growth because I always only keep the blue one on!

what is your tank dimensions and what lighting do you use? erm.....honestly, the lighting is still the original fluros that came with the tank, there are three, the middle one is a blueish tinge and the other two are a yellow tinge. Sometimes I only keep two on, or just the blueish one on...

Every Tuesday my Discus will lay, and for a couple of days the mother and father will attend to these eggs, fanning and blowing jets of water and protecting them, but on the 2nd/3rd day the mother just starts tucking into them like a delicasy! And the poor dad comes back for his turn to babysit...

Yeah, they turn on and off, sometimes when males are showing off or playing pecking order, sometimes when they are frightened, sometimes when they are stressed. Just depends. :dunno: I know when I press my face right up to the glass they tend to put their stripes on. Maybe im not a pretty...
