Found a brittle star in my tank today!!!

Brittle stars do often hitchhike on live rock. They are actually beneficial to the aquarium, eating detritus off of the sand.

    Regal Blue Tang (Dory)

They do often sleep on their sides and sometimes even wedge themselves between rocks. They do get very large and, like said before, are open water swimmers, needing at LEAST a 100 gallon tank.

    raccoon

I appreciate your concern. I have already researched and have talked to many people that have kept them as pets for many many years, and I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm fully aware of his needs, and I'm ready to take on the challenge. :D

    1 ft Marine Tank

Not to mention, if your anemone dies and you don't catch it right away (and i do mean right away), you can say bye-bye to everything else in that tiny little box.

    Filter ?

You sure can use southdown sand. My original point was that aragonite/crushed coral tends to trap nitrates.

    Filter ?

Maybe you shouldn't get into the saltwater hobby if you don't have the money to take optimum care of your fish/corals in the first place, then?

    Why Petco...why?!

Porkies are known to be rather susceptible to ich. In the wild porkies can get up to 18 inches long, but I have never seen them larger than 7-8 inches in captivity. 80 gallon tank is a minimum.

    Strangest looking fish.......

Maybe the best answer would be to go back to the aquarium and ask someone there.

    Filter ?

Also, if you can, try to use ALL live sand. Crushed coral tends to trap nitrates.

    I wanna snake.

Garter snakes and ribbon snakes can be fed crickets and live fish. You could also go to www.rodentpro.com and order frozen mice/rats.

    inheriting tank

    1. Yes, it's true IF you are planning on doing a reef. However, if you plan to just have fish in your tank (NO invertebrates/corals) then it won't cause any harm. 2. Only thing I can think of is testing the water for copper. Some ich medicines use it to kill the parasites.

    1. Maybe. Canister filters work fine if you are planning to do a fish-only system. However, if you are planning on doing a reef tank (corals) then you're gonna have to upgrade to a wet/dry. A protein skimmer is a must-have, regardless of what type tank it will be. 2. Regular Normal Output...

    raccoon

He's VERY mischeivous! Gets into EVERYTHING. He opens the cabinet doors, pulls everything out of them, then proceeds to open the refrigerator and tries to pull his food off the shelf. Knocks over the garbage can in the bathroom, and chews on everything. He's best friends with my doberman, Lilo...

    40 US gallon FOWLR tank

You have a lot of choices here. There are many different types of fish that can live happily in a 40 gallon tank, however, maybe the best thing to do would be to list the fish that absolutely CAN NOT be put into your tank first. Tangs Groupers Larger puffers (dogface, porcupine, etc.) Triggers...

    How many clowns in 30 + ...

Keep in mind that Clownfish do not need anemones to survive. As mentioned above, one pair would be all that you could keep in that tank. If you absolutely need an anemone, I would reccommend getting ATLEAST a power compact lighting system. Anemones usually don't last too long in the home...

There are worms in my tank

If they are planaria (flatworms), they are usually a result of overfeeding. There is probably a lot of uneaten food left in your gravel. A good water change should fix it, and be sure not to let any food go uneaten.

He's already been to the vet and has had rabies vaccinations. He has also been de-wormed.

    raccoon

Yeah, we're gonna have to keep him. Baby raccoons are usually found in the spring time, and when they are raised to be released in the wild, they are conditioned to living outside for 6 months until they are finally released. It will be winter time by the time he is 6 months old, and he will not...

    mollies in honduras

I just got back from visiting Roatan, Honduras a couple weeks ago. Outside of our cabana, there was a very large brackish water pond that emptied right into the ocean. It was FILLED with a large amount of beautifully colored mollies. Nothing i've ever seen before. I managed to catch one of them...
