I buy whitebait and fish off-cuts from my local fish monger and earthworms from the local fishing tackle shop, both are cheap and healthy in small amounts,  Avoid maggots and dead insects unless they have been bought frozen or freeze dried though. they also like prawn and crabsticks

looks like a Paroon to me, think you are going to need a considerably bigger tank!!!  Take it  back whilst you still can, and DO NOT  swap it for a blue whale catfish if you intend to keep it in your community tank.    Try and find someone in the store that is knowledgeable and take it from there.

They were tiny but only about £5-7 each, they were a bargain, they are all still going strong and are looking great in a species tank with wild caught Blue Moori and an Asian Sun Cat. I was hoping they would give me £30-40 pound as this would still give them a profit,  we will see!

I visit my local fish monger once month and he gives me the offcuts, I ask for sea fish only to prevent transfer of disease, my fish love it, i use ice cube trays so i can defrost a little at a time. great use of free resources and much more humane than feeders.

I have kept large severums with small fish and had no problems. Also the 3 spot demon geo cichlid. drsgon goby are non predatory and will get good size, However, they need brackish conditions to thrive.
