I melt the cube in tap water then use a coffe filter to get the water away from it then smash the food to get all the bad jucies out of it then I scrap it off the coffe filter and put it in a cup and then I Can just put it in the tank not sure its the best way but its my way. dave

thanks for all your help I've found from moving the clam and making it more level but keeping it as close to the surface as possible the clam has opened more which means I had it in 2 tight a spot to open I'll take some pictures and post them later. dave

its like 4 inches from the surface right under tubes I think I found the problem I had him on a rock that might have prevented him from fully opening so I moved him up alittle bit and he opened more. Also the room is very well lite by teh sunlight during the day. dave

so I guess if then a 5 gallon refugium would do the trick for the small amout of phosphates that are being added by the cubes. and yes there are alot of fish to feed in my tank espically a very big hungry yellow tank. dave

no the phosphates aren't coming from the water because its RO water. The problem came from using frozen foods to long and not getting all the juices and stuff that carry phosphates and nitrates away by straining it. I learned that when I went to the fish store. dave
