just to update, ive now drilled 3 holes at the back. I was sweating a lot but took my time so am happy. Thanks for your help on this.

Hi, i beleive the Juwels are drillable. If i controlled the water flow using taps then i would of thought this should remove any flushing noise? cheers Ian

ok, im guessing mine wont be far off, mine is 76 gallons roughly so i would imagine its the same. ill have to wait until next week to measure but you have given me some food for thought. Is it ok to contact you again when i have more questions :)

ah ok, i see about the weirs. why would you suggest 2 drains?

sorry, 1 hole was to go down and the other is the return. I was going to make 2 small plastic glass weirs to cover the holes to stop the live stock going down them. is this not a good idea?

i was planning to drill 2 holes, 1 at near each end

ive not got it yet, its coming next week. ive got 1 12000 lph powerhead, just need to get 2 more. seems a few people have drilled these tanks both back and bottom so i assumw its thick enough? cheers Ian

Hi, ok, im going to drill my tank. I was going to drill at the back, I was thinking of a 2 x 35mm holes which will allow for 22mm pipes into and out of the sump. Is 22mm ok? Where would I drill, just below the hood line? Im going to use plastic glass to create dividers and silocone them...

Hi guys, im just getting some ideas of a sump tank for use with my Juwel 125. Do you think this would be sufficent? Arcadia Arc Tank 20L Also can you recommend a good drill peice and pipe work to fit the holes once drilled? thanks Ian

just a thought, would it be better to buy the rock early and leave it out dry so any baddies are killed off? i.e for a month while the tank is being drilled etc (should i decide to do that)

thanks for this. I guess the problem with an overflow box is that the lid will have to lifted up slightly to get the box to sit on top.

hey, good diagram :) so in essence there isn't much different in a tank being drilled or using an overflow box? they both go into a sump and get pumped back up again. Im guessing the overflow box just show more in the tank where as the drilled doesn't? With the overflow box or drilled isn't...

ok im a bit confused. How does the normal sump work then? is that pumped down and pumped back up? Also where would you drill the tank? I think if im going to do a nice tidy job then all the kit will be in the stand below cheers
