Hi, i beleive the Juwels are drillable. If i controlled the water flow using taps then i would of thought this should remove any flushing noise? cheers Ian

    Drilling Tank

sorry, 1 hole was to go down and the other is the return. I was going to make 2 small plastic glass weirs to cover the holes to stop the live stock going down them. is this not a good idea?

    Drilling Tank

Hi, ok, im going to drill my tank. I was going to drill at the back, I was thinking of a 2 x 35mm holes which will allow for 22mm pipes into and out of the sump. Is 22mm ok? Where would I drill, just below the hood line? Im going to use plastic glass to create dividers and silocone them...

    Starting My Marine Tank

Hi, ok, makes sense. Im definately set on the sumping and from what you have said drilling from the back is best. How did you put the pipe into the glass on your friends tank? i assume you also sealed it with Silocone? thanks

    Starting My Marine Tank

Hi Danny, what tall comparment sumps would you suggest? Also what better options are there by using a sump other than larger water volume and external filtration? When i drill the tank where would you do it, on the back or at the bottom? im also unsure what height i should drill. thanks for...

New To Marine And Have Questions

just a thought, would it be better to buy the rock early and leave it out dry so any baddies are killed off? i.e for a month while the tank is being drilled etc (should i decide to do that)

New To Marine And Have Questions

thanks for this. I guess the problem with an overflow box is that the lid will have to lifted up slightly to get the box to sit on top.

New To Marine And Have Questions

ok thanks for this. Im definaltely going to go for a sump, i just need to decide on a drilled tank or just the overflow, hmm decisions.

New To Marine And Have Questions

hey, good diagram :) so in essence there isn't much different in a tank being drilled or using an overflow box? they both go into a sump and get pumped back up again. Im guessing the overflow box just show more in the tank where as the drilled doesn't? With the overflow box or drilled isn't...

New To Marine And Have Questions

Hi, thanks again for the replies. I would probably just use the T5 strips that come with the tank but replace the bulbs. Are there 2 certain types i need to put in? to encourage growth? Im planning to get a bigger tank one day but I have reserved that for my turtles, im not sure you can mix...
