Bangin Hi, The gas cylinder is not re-fillable. The price quoted is about $32 (US) for gas and regulator. The gas can be purchassed for approximately $16. However it doesn't include one way valves (non-return valves), solenoids or piping. THe bubble counter will be from the Nutrafin system...

    Nutrafin CO2 system

Many thanks for that info. What a great idea will probably give that a go. As I said above the tank is over 700 litres (150 Gall) so the nutra system is too small for it. However the local garden centre has knocked £7 off its retail price so will buy one just for the bubble counter once again...

    Nutrafin CO2 system

Hello, Has anyone used the Nutrafin CO2 system for aquariums? If so what were your results like? what size tank did you use it in. The packaging states it is for 75 ltr tanks. I have a tank that holds nearly 700 litres. I can't really have ten of these units hanging off the side! Is there any...

    fish TB

Thankyou for the information, just a point however: it is my belief and it has been repeated else where that the TB bacteria live in most fish tanks awaiting a suitable time to attack! Thus it should be pointed out that swallowing of any aquarmium water should be avoided, and open wounds on...

    fish TB

I suspect that I have suffered an outbreak of fish TB. The first I've ever had in 20 years. I still have fish in the affected tank which seem to be ok after adding some tonic salt to the tank. water quality is nitrate between 12.5 and 25, nitrite 0, PH 6.5 - 7.0. Havent tested for ammonia. Would...

Greyish spot on my gourami pupil

I usually do partial water changes once every two weeks which seems to have been ok for the past twenty years. The tank has been going for the last two years like this. Partial changes include gravel cleaning. To be honest I haven't check the ammonia levels. PH is about 6.5 - 7.0

Greyish spot on my gourami pupil

Not a real emergency, now, but I have had several deaths recently without any real signs of cause. The tank readings were all ok with nitrite being 0 and nitrate being around 20. I have looked through several books trying to work out what was killing my fish and the only thing I have come up...

    Quarantine tank for new arrivals

I have kept fish for nearly 20 years and have never really bothered with a quarantine tank for new arrivals. However I have just had a virtual wipe out of my tropical tank after introducing new fish and a new additional filter. I don't know what killed the fish as there was no visible signs...
