EDD, WASH your tank out a couple of times then fill it w/ water an test it /water for COPPER, just get a KIT, if your going to use your water from home test it for outher trace elements also. when you get your substrate in an add water/salt you checking that again,will be waiting for it to CYCLE...

ste2k3, question are you using a euro skimmer? did you silicone your partitions? how big is the sump? if Iput a skimmer in the sump, guess Ill have to go BIGGER maby a 20high or a 30gal. 'GOOD LUCK GOOD REEFIN" :rolleyes:

DEBO, I have salt in all my tanks BUT also have CRUSHED CORAL mixed in w/ the gravel, this makes them a brakish water tank. I also have a REDTAIL an he's 6" an is fat an healthy. so I never had a problem w/ICK, or an outher kind of infections, :no: even on the big irridesent sharks with there...
