What If I Accidentally Put A Bit Too Much First Bites Fish Food In - F

I thought that dechlorinated water wouldn't but water straight from the tap could. Every time anyone one carries out a water change they are adding a large quantity of dechlorinated water which will then pass through the filter. Interested to know if the tank water has matured in some way to...

Accidentally Put Too Much Fish Food Powder - Help

Why, and what issues does it cause? As a relative newbie I thought that the reason we used a bucket of the tank water we were removing was because it was being thrown away anyway and hence less wasteful and easier than dechlorinating a bucket of water that would be thrown away.

    Transferring To A Bigger Tank

Rather than take the old filter out and risk a spike I would gradually reduce the amount of media in the old filter. Taking 25% out per week shouldn't cause a problem.

Juwel Trigon 190 [What Are They Like]

I looked at the 190 but eventually bought the 350 as the shape of corner tanke means you lose the length of tank which you would get with a rectangle tank. This can restrict choice of fish. 190 is definitely too small for the pleco.

    Empty 12 Gallon Fish Tank

Agreed entirely with the confusion caused by quoting gallons, but your conversion to litres is using the wrong figures. 1 US gallon = 3.79 litres 1 IMP gallon = 4.55 litres So the difference could be 45l or 55l

    Fish Getting Into Filter

I switched off the internal filter this morning whilst I carried out a water change and gravel clean this morning. Before switching the filter back on I decided to change the floss so lifted the plastic top and found one of my sailfin mollies swimming around in the top of the filter box. This...

    Please Help Settle This Argument...

Water changes with tap water will help, most people on this forum will be using tap water not RO. Using RO brings its own problems as essential minerals have been removed and need to be replaced. Test your tap water, I would be surprised if it has a measurable level of nitrite. A 50% change will...

    Cooling Down An Aquarium

No, as the temperature is above 70 the thermostat will keep the heater switched off. The only way to reduce the temperature is to take heat (ie energy out of the water) A chiller will do this very well but will be expensive The frozen water bottles were doing this as energy was needed to melt...
