Hi there, do you have any method of transporting this tank say 10 or so miles (sudbury, suffolk) obviously for a cost? If not, what side of Colchester are you? How heavy is this tank? would I require more than 2 people to lift?

Thanks a lot for your posts. As soon as you said heater, I looked at it again and am 100% you are right. I've ordered a heater guard and am awaiting its arrival. It doesn't seem to be unduly bothering the Pleco, so presumably nothing else needs to be done?

I think it must be a pairing. Found a load of eggs laid on my algae scraper today.. parents working their socks off to keep the other fish away!! (and me! I was trying to remove the snails from on the scraper and he went for my finger in a crazy way!!)

I'm Sudbury which is relatively nearby(ish) (17 miles or something) although water here is harder than in Ipswich I believe. My office tapwater reads a PH of just over 7 which is where my fish tank is.

I've heard my LFS refuse people fish, but then suggest fish that would work. In my opinion thats what being a good fish shop is all about, furthermore it reduces the likelyhood that the people will blame the deaths upon poor stock or whatever.

Cheers bud, Im not local enough to York unfortunately! Managed to get 2 around the same size from someone else I know who was turning his tank into malawi. Strange thing is they all seem to get along ok - Touch wood. But ty for the message anyway!

I have, what is undoubtedly a common problem with snaisl. I have a small army of 5 Yo-Yo Loaches, but they do not seem at all interested with the snails, instead just content with trashing my nicely planted aquarium! Any advice on what to do to encourage them to eat the snails?
