Yes i am in the uk in north bedfordshire i was thinking of phoning the waterbord to come and check my water as i have read that Nitrates at this level can be damaging to your health I only bought my test kit afew days ago so i dont think it is out of date but i shall check i only have one plant...

Could it be that you had grown some babtiria when doing the fishless cycle and now have enought to cope with the fish you have in your tank

It is my tap water that is 80ppm can i get it down somehow ?

I have just bought the API test kit and found out my tap water and tank water are 80ppm Nitrate what can i do to reduce it? I have tested several times with the same resoults I am shaking the bottle realy well so it is not that HELP PLease

Im starting out with my first tank ( still cyceling )went to the lfs last week spent about an hour looking at the fist seeing what i liked tryed to remember names and came home too look them up i shall take a pen and papper next time good idea i did feal abit silly leaving the shop after an hour...

Water is ok now not cloudy anymore looks good i have a liquid test for Ammonia and Nitrite still the same readings as before not worried as not even been a week yet hopefully things will start moving toward the end of the week

how about some guppys you can have lots of different colours

Hi thanks for your replys yesturday i got some filter water from LFS put it in today i have 2ppm Ammonia and 1ppm nitrite so i think i have started to do somethink i also have bubbles on top of the tank is this normal?

I have just started with Ammonia too only three days in tank has gone cloudy have not tested again yet shall be doing that tomorrow hang in there thats what im going to do

Thanks for your replys i did use declorinator wilkos own brand (cheep one) it is still cloudy this morrnig lots of air going in from filter and airstone so some bubbles on top of water today is day three so i am going to test for Ammonia tomorrow have not tested for anythink else yet I do not...

Got my new tank on Tuesday a ViaAqua AR620 90l in silver its all set up gravel and plastic plants in heater airstone set temp 29c added water tuesday night wednesday added Ammonia 3,5ml then 1.5ml then 1ml and lastly another 1ml so 7ml in all Ammonia is now 3.5ppm-4ppm shall wait till saturday...

Hi i am looking for some advice on weekly treatments do i nead to ad somethink to the tank on a weekly basice?. I have read about cycling and changing the water and the good bactiria but do i nead to add anything LPS says yes but they would so they can sell more products i dont wont to be adding...

I have been looking at fish there are lots i like but im thinking small sholing fish tetras guppies barbs i am thinking small as then i can have afew fish instead of maybe three or four maybe a dewaf cat fish aswell
