I've been through your situation before, bearing in mind i only have dwarf frogs as tankmates. But yes, like people have already said, providing they havnt been eaten i expect they are either hiding, or in your filter. I lost 2 cherries when i set up my tank due to my filter sucking them up...

I cant really answer your question due to lack of experience, but it might be an idea to get your frog a friend as they really do enjoy each others company. This would also allow him to get less intimidated by the fish and for the frogs to encourage each other to venture about your tank more...
