    Berried Cherry Red Shrimp

Any moss is good for baby shrimp as it holds beneficial organisms for them to feed off. I've just got a moss ball from Maidenhead aquatics for £3.49.

Thanks for the kind replies. Must say better than my misses reply or should I say her reaction to me starting one of my tanks back up. Went from 5 down to 1 through one thing and another, now back up to 2..................she doesn't know it yet but I've got plans for the other redundant tanks  ...

    General Chat, The Vote

I think you should use the 2 winning votes in the title IE: General Chat "The Great Escape" as it stands now in the poll, I don't see what all the fuse is about. Members should be happier knowning that the Mods are even thinking about bringing it back, what ever name it ends up with. To blast...

    Betta Female Question?

First off, she swam away because she wasn't ready to spawn, end of. They do that even if there is one massive hell of a bubble nest, if she isn't loaded with eggs she won' be intrested that much. From the above it sounds like you conditioned them in seperate tanks, it's got to be done in the...

    Dymax Iq3 For My Bettas

Personaly for me if the water perameters are kept in check, those tanks will be fine. As Honeythorn has stated it will be harder to keep the water perameters in check with a smaller volume of water. Thats a fact end of. While I will always disagree with Honeythorns' belief that 5g's is minimum...

    Betta Babiess!

Best bet is to get a worm culture ASAP, I got a starter culture from e-bay for £2 delivered and if in a fairly warm enviroment can start producing after a few hours. I have been inform, but never used them, that vinegar eels are better as they float (or swim) and live alot longer in water. A...

    Breeding Bettas

betta fish, I was not arguing a point, just pointing out why the female is not fully intrested, you are now stating only 2 days before hand? Different fish = diferent times, it's not a given facter, may take longer.

    Betta In Fluval Edge Tank

OMG, If your thinging of a tank that you want a big piece of...

    Breeding Bettas

Sorry forgot to add, Its probly better to have a bare bottom tank for the male to find the eggs he's missed, but saying that I have sand in mine and it didn't seem to much of a problem.

    Breeding Bettas

Which method did you use to introduce them, chimmney or dividing the tank? and how long for? has the female shown signs of breeding stripes (virtical stripes)? The reason why the male has stopped adding to the nest is because he's now more intrested in breeding because the female is in the same...

Will These Supplies Work For My Betta?

IMO 11 litre tank is fine, as long as its filtered and heated, and the water is kept to prime conditions. As long as the heater keeps the water to the required temp. I don't see a problem. Please stop with this betta police.

    Eggs!

From you pic I can't see any eggs and, they will be white. Having said that I know gourami eggs are very small,Honey's will be even smaller, smaller than bettas. What tank have got them in a comunity tank? If so, there's not alot you can do. You really need a tank for them to spawn in then...

    Why Do So Many People...

Why? The reason is because most of people think it's a quick Dollar/Pound, too which they will fail. It's not an easy job, it takes time, money and space and above all dedication. I don't agree with people telling people not to try and breed VT's that you by in your LFS though, it's better to...

    Dijon Has Spawned

Ok as requested here are some Pictures. First of them is a blurred shot of a tail, which looks promising. Second is a full tank shot and the rest are just random half decent ones. As the little blighters don't keep stil for very long now and every time you go near the tank they swarm around the...

    Dijon Has Spawned

Thanks for all you support. They have been fed daphnia before but getting hold of good quality ones is very hard. Usually you find that most of them are dead in the bag, and you end up paying 60p for 20 live ones. I did by chance get some a few weeks ago that where perfect, but this was due to...

    Dijon Has Spawned

Lost 1 today, realy gutted. My mini fridge went "T" up last week due to power failier(plus a vid recorder) So I lost all my live live food, apart from microworms. So I gave them some frozen blood worm. Didn't think to cut them up? Cause all the live ones I have been feeding them have been...

    Bettas Spawned, Now What?

Hi fry forever, Well first congrats, second your in for a big learning curve. Trust me, I had reserched before hand, but not nearly enough, I have been very lucky that my spawn ended up very small and a lot easier to raise. Anyhows, Have you looked on e-bay for a microworm culture? You can...

    Dijon Has Spawned

I don't find feeding bloodworm messy, just more time consuming. Ohh they love daphnia, it's very funny watching them trying to catch them. Also, a must picture to get is when two fry get hold of the same bloodworm. I've been busy too. I now have windows 7 and im still getting used to it. Only...

    Dijon Has Spawned

I got some live brine shrimp today, and after a feeding frenzy, they are all little fat bettas. Also got hold of some live Daphnia and bloodworm(look alot smaller in size than the frozen ones I have). Plus I got some frozen tubifex ( thanks for that finalfantay85 ), which I will try tomorrow...

    Eggs Have Been Layed

Hi mezzic, First off have a read of this http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=165155 The colour of your eggs sounds like a beige color which means they are fertile. Add an air stone to your hatchery, this will circulate the water around the eggs, and reduce the posibility of fungus to...
