How long do they take to grow up? I want to wait until they're all grown up and colourful before I give them away! :3 The reason being is, you see, that I recently got three new beautiful male guppies, and I think the fry might be from those! :hyper:

I have two tanks, so is it a good idea to maybe put male guppies in one and females in the other? xP Or I might get another Betta for that one, a female.... :'3 Then she can eat all the fry! XD

I think that usually female guppies and things like that are okay. :3 Or male guppies with not too colourful or long fins! :3

Okay, thanks! :3 Well, the tank size is 10 gallons, there are... hmm. 3 guppies, I believe? Plus 2 guppy fry. Plus 4 cories. Plus the Betta. And the filter is good for up to 15 gallons.

That's good advice. :/ I tend to forget about these things, but that's just me. Hopefully I'll be able to persuade myself more during the school year! :3

I have some guppies, and if the other fish are well-fed, and the guppies have a lot of hiding places, the other fish might not eat the fry. It doesn't always work that way, though. :/ You could maybe try a few smaller livebearers such as guppies, or other fish, such as neon tetras?

Yup! Cories should be okay! ^.^; Snails can over-run the tank, should you forget to clean it! D: Most Bettas won't chase after cories, but yours might be the exception if it's a mean one. The ones I've had haven't been, though. They're usually pretty peaceful. :3

Wouldn't black and green algae be considered bad? I just thought about when my sister had algae in her tanks and she went on and on about how green algae is bad. Then she and my Mom did an 100% water change.

Yeah, lol. xD I know a fair bit about Bettas and I know that they're really territorial! O.o; And they dont like other fish. Well, my sister had female Bettas and they attacked each other.... She has a male Betta in a tank with guppies, actually, and he gets along fine. But he's a bit withdrawn...

Well, I did have a fish tank once. But it was just some little 8 gallon tank with 2 goldfish in. And they both died cause they were fair fish, and those aren't supposed to last very long. :( edit: Yeah, they died in 2 days. And I haven't had a tank myself since.
