    Betta Needs Help!

My betta has been battling recurring fin rot since I bought him, particularly since he bit his fins if he wasn't fed every morning. I lacked the right knowledge to bring him up properly when I first got him, and he lived in a one-gallon bowl for about six months, with infrequent and 100% water...

    Snails Aren't Aggressive, Right?

I woke up this morning to find my betta, who had been struggling to recover from fin rot, all torn up all over again...worse than ever before. He is in a five-gallon tank and he had a recent companion placed in, one trumpet snail. I figure this is probably because I had a rock setup at the...

    Help, Fin Streaks.

He had some red spots, as well as half of his face being red, but then practically overnight he developed the bright red stripes...so, I mean, it COULD be a spontaneous coloration, but I didn't really think it could happen over less than two days like that! That's what I want it to be!

    Help, Fin Streaks.

I attached the picture to this post, hopefully that works. Is ammonia poisoning even treatable? Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I cannot find out much about it. :/ I would love to have a five-gallon for him like I have recently set up for my other betta (found the tank in my...

    Help, Fin Streaks.

Of course, I am thinking the worst - ammonia poisoning, or something along those lines. He had a couple of red spots on the fins and on his face, but all of a sudden now there are vivid red streaks on a couple of fins, particularly the anal fin, and a streak just right of his eye. I really wish...

    Mysterious Betta Illness?

Well, looked like things were improving with my betta...there was color coming back into the transparent parts of his fins...and then I woke up this morning to see a few red dots on the edges and tearing. So I guess it's back with a vengeance. He is still very active and hungry though!

    Mysterious Betta Illness?

The tips as well as very tiny pinholes. And his face just changed color over time, so I did not know if it was natural or disease.

    Mysterious Betta Illness?

The tank is not cycled. I have to change water for another betta in a bowl (waiting for a tank) every day or two anyways, so water changes are just a part of my day! The spots on his face are just strange in that some of them are shiny at random, otherwise it's just a regular white color. No...

    Mysterious Betta Illness?

Unfortunately, I don't have a water test kit on hand, but I will see if I can borrow some supplies or get my own, and get a result posted. Tight on money right now. I was using Maracyn, then I figured out it would not work because it only treats gram-positive bacteria. His fins have looked...

    Mysterious Betta Illness?

I will attempt to post half-decent pictures, but cell phone quality is never good! My betta has a plethora of issues. He has just been moved from a one-gallon bowl to a five-gallon tank, and I am going to start slowly heating the tank up soon. However, he has developed these spots on his face...
