    F1 Cyphotilapia Gibberosa

Thanks Josh, they have a lot of growing to do yet, but most of them have their own little character already.

Im Now A Cichlid Owner :) Pics!

I couldn't agree more. 100% top advice. They are NOT a really good aquatic shop, with statements like that.

    F1 Cyphotilapia Gibberosa

These are my F1 Kitumba Cyphotilapia gibberosa. There are elven at the moment, but once the colony gets established, I will reduce the numbers. They are just over a year old. They are in a 6x2x2 (150 gallons) at the moment they are sharing with 6 x Altolamprologus compressiceps, 2 x...

Im Now A Cichlid Owner :) Pics!

No way!!!! I'm sorry to read that mate. He looked a stunning fish. I am not sure why it happened, but fish do not do well in a new tank that hasn't been properly cycled. I may be talking out of turn as you probably know all of this. Also as mentioned above, there should be ample surface...

Im Now A Cichlid Owner :) Pics!

That is a nice looking pair you got there. These will be great in a 240, but I wouldn't put anything else with them. What filtration are you using?

    Cichlid Pellets

If you soak pellets before feeding, they lose a lot of their vitamin content. Always feed fresh from the packet. Hikari are a great staple diet for cichlids.

    Peacock Bass

I think that the quoted tank size is about right. These are amazing fish, with huge mouths, and an appetite to match. They are very active too. If I could house them properly, then I would love to own some.

    Meet The Redheads

Beautiful fish. I once used playpit sand and found it too fine. It ended up everywhere, and up into my filters. I use river sand from Maidenhead Aquatics, and have never had that problem since.

    My Red Devil Wont Eat

I feed mainly floating pellets to my New Worlds, and sinking to my Old Worlds. Once settled I am sure Damon will eat most things. Personally I have never had a fussy Devil, and I have had a few.

    Final Tank Upgrade For Ornatums

An 18" width will be fine, I know somebody who has a pair of near full grown ornatum, and I think his tank is only 18" width. I really hope you do well with yours, as I only know of you two that has these with the potential of spreading them through the hobby.

    My Red Devil Wont Eat

You can try lots of krill, I also feed spirulina flake now and then. tailsker is right though, look at the one in my avatar, she stayed this colour most of her life. But her male who ate exactly the same diet, was a deep orange. Hikari cichlid gold claims to enhance colour, but although I feed...

    My Red Devil Wont Eat

That's great, see he is settling. He'll soon be eating you out of house and home. They are greedy fish once settled.lol.

Parrot Fish With Oscars, Dempseys, And Convict?

There is no way in hell that is ever going to work. 55g is minimum for one Oscar. I wouldn't think of putting those fish together in any thing less than 120g. So I think you have done the right thing in deciding to pass on this deal. Shouldn't this be in the New World section?

    My Red Devil Wont Eat

I agree with hamfist, it really is to early to be worrying. Some fish take a long time to settle. I bought a 10 inch devil from a local guy, and it took over a week before he decided it was safe to eat. Fish generally will not starve themselves to death. So give him time, and keep trying him...

Some Pics Of Damon The Red Devil

They really are fantastic wet pets. Dare I say even better than Oscars (don't flame me I love O's too) Any of the Amphilophus complex are great fish. Your Hubby will love one Star. HGS, I thought your fish looked more Midas as it looked to me to have a wider snout than the one in my avatar...

Some Pics Of Damon The Red Devil

Nice fish, looks more like a Midas to me. Although most of them now are hybrids of Labiatus/Citrinellus. I have six growing on at the moment. Also are you positive it is a male? The reason I ask is that I bought one at roughly the same size as yours, and it had all the traits of a male, long...

    Top 10 Least Aggresive Chiclids

I have not kept ten of what I would call peaceful cichlids. But out of the ones I have kept, I would regard Keyhole cichlids to be the most peaceful. A lot of the dwarf cichlids are pretty peaceful, but it is all relevant. I have had Pike cichlids that took no notice of any othe fish, and I have...

Any One Kept A Vieja Synspilum Before?

Its like any other cichlid, their are those with good temperament, those that are belligerent and those that are indifferent. I grew six unrelated Synspilus out and got a beautiful pair with a fantastic temperament as long as the male wasn't challenged. I had an Oscar in with mine and as the...

Got A Nice Pair Of Beauties

Cracking looking pair of Sev's, I hope they do the business for you soon. It's great to see true severus as there arn't many about lately.

    Those With Flowerhorns

£0.00 as I can't stand the way that flowerhorns have ruined great cichlids like the Trimac. I can understand people liking them as some do look good, but I could never bring myself to buy one when there are so many beautiful true breeds available. Not a helpful reply I know, but my two pence worth.

Beautiful tank, and in my opinion stocked very sensibly. It looks neither over crowded or under stocked.

    Different Frontosas?

Hi Dave, they are both burundi, very nice ones too. The darker one is showing his potential as alpha male.
