If your test is the API one I think grey, along with green and going back to blue after being purple all means that the nitirite is off the scale the test measures. FIshy55.

As I understand it, you have a designated hour in each 24 hour period when you top up the ammonia to 3-5ppm, but only do this if the previous dose has dropped to nil or close to nil. Obviously it is up to you how ofter you test, I would say go onto 12 hour tests once you ammonia is 0 at the 24...

Some fish need to go into a "mature tank". It would seem that this means a tank that is at least six months old. My question is this: When you have been fishless cycling, is day one of the tank age the first day of adding ammonia to the tank or the day the first fish were added? Ta Fishy55.
