Tank Size For Stingray And Coralcatshark

most sharks need HUGE tanks. like 200-250 gallons each, also they dont like tall tanks. They need loads of open swiming space. soft sandy bottoms and no jagged rocks. blue-spotted stingray dont need as much space.. more like 80-100 gallons each.

    Ocellaris Clownfish Not Eating

i think that translates to: "Is the aquarium ready/trusted for fish? I think they are too new. Its possible that they could eat when you are asleep. if not, then i have no idea. hope this is helpful."

    Live Rock Hitchhiker Id's

a type of Nudibranch.. not sure which though? I think they are generaly reef safe and are algae eaters. EDIT: just read that they are grazing carnivores and as a whole they feed on a wide variety of animals including sponges, hydroids, tunicates, anemones, corals, sea pens, bryozoans...

    Live Rock (again)

how dry is "dry" lol if it was totally bone dry throughout, then there will be zero bacteria on it and therefore zero cycling potential. some of the old dry dead stuff will very slowly turn to NH3 and start the cycle going, but it will be slooow  if the rock was still damp inside...

    And So It Begins...

its generaly a good idea to put your sand/gravel in after you have put your live rock in. you can do it the other way round, but just make sure when you put the rocks in they are pushed right down to the bootm of the tank. If they are just resting on the sand, they can subside over time and you...

    Got Some Kit

you could keep the external and just remove the foam pads etc and put carbon and rowaphos in it. Just remember to change the carbon once a month ish. the outlet can give you a little bit more turnover as well. 30kg should be fine for a 55g i think its a case of "more is better" with live rock...

    Mbuna Water

I would find out what water conditions your LFS has (where you plan to get your fish from). If its local to you, they will most probably share the same water source as you, hence no need to change anything. :fun:

Hi, i'm just converting my 216l (56us gal) into a cichlid tank. I went and bought some rocks today, but my main concern is they seem very heavy.
