Guppies would probably be okay, but some bettas are EXTREMELY TERRITORIAL so you may want to watch the tank right when you put in the guppies. If the betta does nothing it sould be fine for them to live their!! (8)+-<

As long as you have a place for the babies to hise, you can let the eggs hatch in the normal tank.

Im not possotive about the guppies, ui would say you could use a male and a femael of any guppy species, and 1.5 would be enough to raise the fry, but try to get a breeding net because the fry need to get used toteh water.
