Big fish with orange tail is a flagtail minnows typically get about 3 inches

I believe that is their adult coloring. I heard others say that these get a dull brown. Not too many adult specimens to film I guess.

Looking closely at your measuring tape, I'd say closer to 6 inches. (You tape starts beoynd his tail at one end and doesn't reach 7 at the other)
