Welcome To The Forum (a bit late lol, but anyways), thats one big dog, what yeh feed it cows ?

personally i dot even attempt to catch cichlids now, it usually takes me about 2 hours to catch 1 fish and even then the whole tank has been destroyed lol.

i took me about 15 minutes to read this topic lol. anyways congrats on the fry and you have a really beautiful tank (compared to mine lol). and how did you get on with moving the fry?

Ok thanks for your help. i have payed for the tank and will recieve it after Christmas, My next problem is What would be the best way to move the fish to the new tank, maybe starting the new tank from scratch and leave it to condition for say 1 month? Thanks

jacobs IMHO are rough as hell, i had a large red empress which always ran my tank until my male jacob decided diffrent. in the space of 1 hour my empress's fins were ripped to pieces and i had to rehome the jacob.

ok so i have 4 red empress's and 3 aulonocara ob's, they are all in a 2 1/2' tank which they have resided since they were juveniles, now i was wondering if buying a 4ft tank would be any better, their is no aggression and i havent lost any fish whatsoever. infact last month i caught sight of 4...

ok hello folks, 1st.. is it ok to have coral sand in my malawi tank? i have heard that it may/will cause gill irritation to my fish, and if yes can you recomend another type of gravel as i have read that it leaves coral particles in the water . 2nd my peacocks have developed little black...

i wouldt suggest adding africans to you tank with the angelfish around, that was my biggest mistake:( if its african then no,

well i had the same problem with my aulonaocara firefish, it kept rubbing up against rocks and gravel, i got in touch with the local breeder and he told me to treat it, just to be on the safe side, then it stopped rubbin up against stuff so am happy:P

hmm i bought 4 x 3 spot gouramis at the weekend but mine seem fine.. maybe you should have gotten more gouramis as mine havent done any chasing ?

basicly dont mix diffrent types like african and american as theirs bound to be trouble

sorry if i may sound rude, but yes i do know that, i have talked to the breeder in my area [2 doors away :shifty:] and he is going to give me some empress's and firefish. also i seen his tank had 30 africans in the one tank :good:

its a 55 g and im not trying to breed them its just my empress [male] keeps chasing my female firesfish. anyways it seems to have settled down as i added more rocks for split territories. and thanks for the replys.

i had my f1 red empress's breeding :). but i didnt even know it lol. i onlynoticed when i seen 8 mini empress's swimming around in the tank, but i had to go to work and by the time i got back they were gone :(

good job :good: it seems all fish are breeding apart from mine :P

oh i used to love livebearers espeacially mollys, but i kept losing them due to lack of vegetation

good job, 2 survivers is better than none and atleast now you can assess the diffrences between your tanks :)

hello ok i have a male red empress and 2 Aulonocara firefish for some reason my red empress keeps chasing and nipping my female Aulonocara firefish. is this normal.?

have you rested the molly? it takes alot out of the fish to give birth. so if yes i suggest moving it to another tank to recover in peace, as being placed straight back into the tank is only a stress for the fish and once the other fish notice the molly is weak it will then begin to get...

hello i would like to know if the firefish and angels would be ok in the same tank.. i have a 1 marble angle and 1 pure golden angel. and i have 2 firefish but i was wondering if anyone knew if they could be put in the same tank of which is 45 gallons.

ehm thewanter in the is still if you get what i mean [just the filter blowing air in]. if i added say a bubble wall or bubble disk or something do you think that may help..? i believe their is no real danger as they bred like 1 month ago [red empress]. but the father ate them :(

oh thanks. i have the picture on the back, the waters fine, but the tank is in the back room where none ever goes. so i will move them to the kitchen where i mostly am
