Yeah it is hard, I didn't think I'd ever get so attached to a fish to be honest! Lol! :blush: It was so sad but at least I know I did everything I could of to try to save him... -_- The others all seem to be in good health so here's to hoping I don't have to do all this again any time soon!

Is that painful for the fish?? :unsure: I didn't really know of the most humane way to do it...? If I fridge cool the water for a long while and then add a heap of ice cubes would that be ok?? Aww - I feel awful about this... :-(

The tail damage was so rapid - one night I noticed a tiny hole in his tail, by the morning it was a complete rip - by that night his tail started to shred and now he only has half left :( I fairly sure my little guy has an internal infection of some kind - I don't think there's much hope...

Looks like something similar to what I'm dealing with Hun - my male guppy's lost half his tail now! :( I'm not very experienced so I can't really advise you - wait for Wilder to come online! ;) Good luck! :good:

The last dose of the Anti Internal Bacteria med was 6 days ago - the instrustions say I can add another dose after a week so I'm thinking I may try one more dose... :unsure: I know I've done what I can but he seems so content - he's eating and swimming normally, he's not hanging around at the...

Hi There! I'm by no means an expert so you might want to wait for once of the more experienced guys to pop in but I believe white stringy poo usually means internal parasites! I think you should probably invest in some Anti Internal Bacteria Meds ASAP! Good Luck :good:

Ok - went to the LFS earlier and they gave me API Aquarium Salt - is that ok?? I've added it to the tank and the fish seem ok at the mo... Blueberry seems happy enough today, just looking fat with an odd shaped tail! Fed all the fish some peas earlier too! Was thinking of buying a very small...

Swelling's not really gone down... Off out in a mo to get some Epsom Bath Salts! Is that ok to use with the other fish?? Should I think about investing in a small tank to isololate him in?? **Sympathies for the chest infection, I had one last month - feel better soon ;)

Just to add - I've just caught Blueberry doing a poo!! Lol! His anus is looking less inflamed and his poo was very dark brown! Is this good or bad?? :unsure:

To be honest he only matches half of those symptoms... I couldn't say for definite that he had dropsy...? His exact symptoms are - Disintergration of the tail - he's lost about 1/3 Swelling of the abdomen Redening around the Anus He's not hanging around the bottom or top of the tank - he's...

No scales stuck out, pooh is a bit white-ish but not too stringy, anus looks a bit red... :unsure: If I get the Epsom Salt stuff is that likely to cure him??? I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle now... :(

Hi! So, Blueberry is still hanging in there after a week of being sick now... I haven't fed him now for 2 days and he's still huge - what do I do now?? :unsure: I've added 2 doses of Anti Internal Bacteria meds and, apart from the fact that his tail seems to have stopped rotting, he's not...

Blueberry is pretty much the same today as he was yesterday - tail seems to have stopped deteriorating but he's still huge! :blink: Any idea's how long it might take for the bloating to subside or if it will at all??:unsure:

Little Blueberry is still with us today - It looks like his tail has stopped deteriorating and he's actually a little more lively now! :good: He's still bloated though... I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :)

Ok so - would it be ok to put the carbon in at say - 10pm tonight and then to remove it at about 10am tomorrow and add the new meds? 12 hours ok??

Have just done a water change and had a look in at the filter sponge - there's definitly room for some more sponge - the other half has just gone out for some now and some bacteria meds! Fingers crossed!!
