    Thanks Wilder. None of these seemed to apply, certainly no slime or gasping at the surface, sometimes one can end up trying to see something that isn't there just so one can help the litle critters. As it was Archie died overnight on the 27th. Very sad to see the big guy go....others remaining...

    Thanks for that Colin I've noticed that by this afternoon all his scales have fallen off, slow and laboured gill movements and lying on his side, hasn't moved at all. If there's no improvement overnight I shall euthanaise if he's not already gone :( Corry

    Hi guys n gals My feather fins have made a grand recovery - thanks for all your advice on that. I returned rom a night away to find my angel fish - the bulting one, upside on the bottom of the tank, fins incredibly ragged, pulsing gills, very innactive even when netting to my hospital tank...

    They were virtually identical! I reckon the dominant is about 30-40% (volume) bigger than the other two now - scary - even scarier, where is he hiding the steroids?!

    Thanks immensely, you've all put my mind to rest. The substrate is quite sharp, black gravel, so I will think about changing it, it seems odd that this is the first time they have done this - perhaps there's a little stress going on (the tank getting too small for them) or am I not feeding them...
