hi, i live in an area with pH around 8.2 and am really struggling to find fish that are suited to that kind of water apart from rift valley cichlids! does anyone know any other fish out there - not too large as my tank is only 84cmx30x30! thanks alot, Jamie

by sparkling gourami i mean Trichopsis pumila - most websites say its only 3-5cm long? ok - have given it soe more thought and i may move my cherry barbs around so i can keep honey gouramis in my 75l - or i may just go to my LFS and find something completly different :D

i was just wonderin if i could keep honey gouramis in a group in a 35l? and what the male to female ratio would be. witht he tank size i would prefer sparkling gouramis but they dont come around often in my area :( thanks for the help!

from the other htread, it is unlikly i can get a nice looking planted tank without adding extra light, which may be difficult because the fluorescent tube power pack is built into the hood and there is not really any room for any other fish, so i am going to rethink an aquascape

i have decided to keep banjo catfish, but before i add them, im going to change my fine gravel into very fine sand and i was wondering what type would be best, i need something fine enough for them to burrow in easily and safely. any ideas? thanks, jamie

if i got a pair of cribs, they would be the only bottom dwellers - the tank is 75cmx35cm(w)x35cm(h) - is this big enough? am glad to hear the ph is ok, i am going to add some mopani wood to the tank and this may bring it down slightly before i add the kribs. thanks for the help!
