Aye it is that one and I won't argue with you on that.. Somebody else mentioned green terror and it does indeed look like one.

Well since the last picture.. it's all up and running (I'd saved the water from when I broke the tank down so I didn't have to cycle it for weeks) I like the way cameras have a cheeky way of telling you that you need to clean the glass, after you've taken the picture and copied it onto the...

cheers but the answer is no! I just need a social life to stop me getting bored... I'd rather do Ikea stuff, I just get ideas and as soon as I start I wonder why I bothered. As you can see from the pictures the wall changed colour and the floor went from laminate to tiles - all at the same...

    Help Wiring Juwel Light Ballast

I've just had an absolute ball ache doing the same with an Arcadia unit. Took me two hours and a lot of growling and swearing! in the end I just ignored the existing set up and concentrated on what the new ballast wanted. The existing setup just confused things as I'd trying and justify why...

And then I got bored. Very bored! I decided that the stand was too low as it restricts what you can put in front of it. If you put a chair in front it blocks the view of the tank; so as I wanted to decorate I decided to build a new stand. First stop B&Q - £2.60 for a 2400mm length of 38mm...

They ended up on eBay as well within about two weeks of me getting them.... My frog died :( so I just had the cresties and just happened to stumbled across a 40x40x18inch glass viv with full setup (including stand) and extras... on eBay obviously! so they're currently living in style.

The stand was too big for the lounge, new build and tiny rooms. So I decided to look for a better stand where I could put the tank along the kitchen wall; but stumbled across a 60x18x24 tank with home made stand which fits perfectly. Stand doesn't look too clever, so a splash of paint and

I've built plenty of vivs but didn't even think about sticking sliding doors on the top of this. Probably because of the slash panels i hadn't even thought about that either.. but i see what you mean now you've mentioned it... Although i might go for a drop down flap instead as it'd give me...

Cheers... I did kind of consider something like that and it probably is a better idea but.... old mutt chops there moults like nobody's business, so it'd have to go quite far down so the tank doesn't get filled with fur. It's also an MDF stand (although the lid is MDF as well) so I need to be...

Update time I think... Well all my LED's turned up so I picked up a 5ft sheet of Easipanel from Homebase, screwed it to the frame and drilled 6.5mm holes for the LED's. Then I attacked the with layer after layer of grout to give it a rocky effect; when that was done I went at it with matt...

I've painted the sides and moved it from in front of the window if that counts as progress? Although I have just got the wood from Homebase and the LED stuff arrived off eBay the other day. I just need to pick the dimmer switch and then start on the background Not sure why there's a white...

Anyone Got Led's Lighting Their Tank

Hopefully I will have soon.. I'm just waiting on somebody dropping the board off for me so i can start it (5x18 doesn't fit in an MR2) Rather than going from above I'm going from behind. One sheet of Easipanel Some grout to roughen it up and make it 'rocky', grey paint and matt black paint...

Why not just buy a tank but have somebody build you a bespoke stand. Can't see it costing too much for an MFC cabinet.

I saw your advert when you first listed and then when you relisted but it was just too big and too much work for me. it's: external - 77wide 24deep 41high internal - 65wide 22deep 28high It was originally built so I could have either a 5x2 or 6x2 tank on top and sectioned off underneath to...

your mate smacked it on a door handle didn't he? Although i bought a 60x20x24 which would be perfect for this stand; but was also watching a 5x2x2 so i let my mate take the 60x20x24 as it came with a stand and I'd take the 5x2x2. After agreeing that I spotted the bidding details on the bigger...

I wouldn't think cling film would offer much protection, but I suppose, cling film, water resistant paint, yacht varnish and tiles... should keep it pretty safe haha, nope i live alone and the mortgage is in my name, so they wouldn't get a choice in it anyway.. lol

I'm going to put tiles of vinyl down for the tank to go one, but the exterior gloss is water resistant. I've also got half a tin of yacht varnish as well so I could give the base a going over with that.

... and then the painting started. Because it was MDF I knew it'd be a bit more of a mission to paint it but I didn't think it'd be that hard. I started with a couple of layers of MDF primer.. Although I should pay more attention to working things out; I picked up a 2.5litre tin as I thought...

Cheers for the comments so far, I did mention the MDF but stuck it between a couple of the pictures so it probably got missed. Once i've filled in the gaps I need to prime, paint and protect the MDF. Although for the tank section I might go for a marble effect lino which should help keep the...

Apparently I signed up here four years, probably when I had my last tank, but I got bored and decided that I had to do something daft... After selling my 4ft tank a couple of years ago I picked up a 2x2x2 tank but never got round to setting it up and ended up giving it to one of my mates as...
