    Java Moss For Sale

I've recently become over run with java moss. For $6, I'll send you a medium sized padded enveloped stuff with moss, way more than enough to get you started. Or, for $3.50 I'll send half of that. Either way- you'll be able to start your own crop- just depends on how patient you are. Payment...

    Algae Eaters

I realize this is an old post, but I just wanted to throw in my $.02. Anyone looking into purchasing an apple snail (AKA Mystery Snail) should definitely check out Applesnail.net. This site is amazing, it contains everything you would want to know about these snails. Also, as said earlier in...

"fuzz" On Cory - Weird Locations

You're right about them being misleading, all the photos I can get on google search seem to have the white patches covering the fish's entire body. But, so far it does sound as if it could be columnaris like you suggested - the poor thing has white stripes on either side of it's back...

"fuzz" On Cory - Weird Locations

So do you think I would be better off just treating the fish that appears ill, or treating them all as a precaution? I can move the snails as long as there is no way that the disease can be spread by them.

"fuzz" On Cory - Weird Locations

Help! I spent a good amount of time staring into my tank this morning (29g with 3 small angels, 4 cory, apple snails, and red ramshorns) when I saw that one of the green cories had white surrounding it's dorsal fin. Then, as it turned, I noticed a fuzzy patch on it's lower left gill. I tried to...

    Moss Wall Technique

So that tank is done with individual suction cups with moss attached? I don't think it would work real well for the carpet effect I'm after... All I have on hand is Java moss, too - and maybe that's not going to be real effective for a carpet either. Maybe I'd be better of with flame moss? I...

    Moss Wall Technique

Has anyone ever tried the moss wall method shown here - http://www.aquamoss.net/ with Java Moss? Has it been successful? I have relatively low light conditions, and don't use CO2.

    Acorus Variegatus

Which would be why I said "every internet site I can find about the plant says it can actually be planted in dirt outside". Duh. I was hoping for maybe a word of experience instead of going solely off of a website. You don't have to treat me like I'm an idiot.

    Acorus Variegatus

I recently purchased this plant from a seller on E-bay, only to realize after purchase that every internet site I can find about the plant says it can actually be planted in dirt outside, with no water- but does best in a bog. My aquariums are far from bog conditions. Will it grow if it is fully...

    National Zoo- Washington D.c.

Just got back from an amazing trip to the National Zoo. Has anyone ever been there? Especially to Amazonia - can we say massive, rediculous over population of endler/guppies? I would really suggest it to anyone who's never been there.

    Ramshorn Eggs?

Hello! I recently received a mess of ramshorn snails in the mail, and less than a week later, I've found this- In my tank. I'm hoping this is a Planorbid species of Red Ram's eggs and not the eggs of those strange little pond snails I've been discovering for the past month or so. Also- are...

    Walmart Aponogenton

I've had this a few of these plants growing in my tank for some time now, but this one has some kind of lump on the stem with leaves coming out. It's gradually getting larger, and larger- and isn't really pretty. Anyone know what it is? Do they start 'baby' plants this way? I'm such a plant...

    Too Much Food

It's always the wife's fault... Now- be honest- was the tub sitting tediously on the filter with no lid on it? And was the tank also placed directly beside the area where she does Tae-Bo work outs? I thought so. ;) :P

Fish Flip Onto There Sides At Random Times Is This Normal?

Could be Ich- check thoroughly for white spots. Some also claim "flashing" like that is a sign of electrolyte difficiencies, though I've only ever seen it lead to Ich.

    Planted Tanks Are Great!

Haha, after looking at the first picture- I thought the tank was 20g or so, until I scrolled down a little and saw the flower pot next to it. Anyway - Beautiful tanks! Maybe you could give us pale-green thumbs a list of some of the plants you keep so well in a non co2 environment? I'm just...

    Can Anyone Id This Plant?

I received this plant in a wrong shipment from an ebay auction, and to my delight- it's really doing well in my tanks, I've been able to triple the stems that I started with by cutting & replanting. Anyway- since it was a misplaced shipment, I have no idea what kind of plant it is. I...

    Clamped Tail And Fins

Hi all, I have a platy in my community tank downstairs that recently started clamping his fins and tail completely tight randomly and being rather anti social. As soon as I saw this change in him, I moved him to a hospital tank. This was over a week ago- and now he has his fins clamped...

    Transferring Platy Fry

Well, on the 4th of July I woke up to 3 baby platies in my hi-fin tank - I'm expecting more as one of the females looks like she's about to pop, and I'm not sure if she dropped a few early or if the other female was carrying a small batch and I didn't realize. I woke up THIS morning to a bunch...

Please Help Dad And I Setup Up My Fish Tank...

Before you get started, you should definitely set up the tank with just water and let it sit somewhere for a day or so where you won't mind any water getting on the floor. ;) Then, make very certain that there isn't any water leaking from the tank- empty it very carefully (preferrably with a...
