well i have a school of 12 in a 46 gallon but i was just wondering if they would thrive in a 10gallon. cos many ppl keep them in a ten gallon. so u think a school of 8 would be as happy in a 10 gallon as they were in the amazon?

will a school cardinal tetras thrive in a 10 gallon tank? if given the perfect water conditions? and also will a 13cm(4-5inch) mbuna thrive in a 30G long? thanks

and also, i feed it vegetable granuels, flakes and the occasional vegetable.

i have 1 EY, about 2 inches(been in my tank for 5 dyas), in a 30G 'extra' long tank that has a ph of 8.2, amm 0.5 (droppin rapidly) and nitrite of 0. i really want it to look like the colourful yellow(no stripes) one.

i have 1 electric yellow that looks exactly like this it has faint stripes. but ive seen other EYs that look like this, the color on this one is so beautiful, is there a way that i can get mine to look like that? thanks.

thanks for ur help guys, i finally found it - this but it has faint stripes down its body.

its got the same body shape as the one on the second pic, but its got a different colour, now... kinda purply blue looking.

i dont think its a blue zebra, mine's fins are almost the same colour as its body and also the stripes are realy dull. mine looks the exact same color as the hap moori on the site i gave u but just dont have the big lump ( and his head looks like the one of a blue zebra) well kinda...

its dosnt look like any one of those. it dosnt have such a big lump. it kinda looks like this(colbat blue zebra) but it has blue black stripes down its body(like the hap moori shown there). and its a more darker and duller blue.

thanks! now the blue thing... very dull blue colour, very faint black/blue stripes 3/4 of the way down the body. looks similar to red zebra but have a slightly bigger lump on head(betta not be a hap moori). has lots of egg spots on anal fin. its bigger than the other fish by quite alot but...

another question..... are mbunas scared of black?? cos i just got a new totally black background and they seem to be scared of it. like swimming rapidly across it and trying to fight it.

hello, i have just setup a small malawi community tank (30G long) currently it holds 1 electric yellow(2inches), 2 red/orange zebras(3inches, and 2 inches) and this big blue thing which i have no idea what its called. its my first african cichlid tank so can u guys please tell me some general...

i kinda defrost it first a little under tap water then put it in. it softens up a little for the fish to eat it more easily

dunno about inches but its 82 by 42 by 40cm

depends what u like, tetras, cories, gouramis, plecos etc i would get a school of cardinal tetras and a few cories with them depending on how big ur tank is.

well i only relised he had a black eye when i got home(it was bought from the lfs yesterday) its like a black ring around the eye, it looks like it has blood inside the ring. but the eye isnt cloudy or anything.

its a gold algae eater but it says Chinese algae eater at my lfs. so........will the balck ring around its eye heal byitself? and if u still dont know what it is here a site the 2nd picture

i got this polyester pad thingys for my filter and it says that not even the tinyest of the tiny particales will ever get through it. maybe give that a try?

thanks reef3, i finally saw one of them swimming out to hunt for once, but it only came out for about 20 seconds, i relise that they sleep the day and come out during night but ppl say they are very active during day time as well -_- thats sounds like a good trick to make them eat, ill try it...

i added my clowns in the middle of the cycle....thanks to my unpaiteint parents :angry: but anyway stillhavent come out still havent seen them eat still have lost any colour. amm:0.5 dropping... nit:0.9 rising...

My Clown loaches came out for about 20 seconds last night, i rearranged the tank to give it more spaces to hide, but now its hiding on the top of the heater :blink: i still have not seen it eat anything but one good thing is their colours are still very bright, bright orange and dark black.

cardinals should be fine with salt.
