Hi, as a newbie I've taken everyone's advice and do a 25% water change every week and gravel vac and it seems to keep my water stats perfect and fish seem very happy :good:

That's exactly what I do and it works really well, only takes a few minutes to defrost. I don't always put the whole cube in, depends on the size of your tank and how many fish :good:

:nod: There is gnarled bogwood and rocks which creates some areas that are too small for the gourami to fit into.

My Gourami is a bit of a bully sometimes, but I'm not sure that he is that agressive that he would kill and eat a Danio, but of course I could be wrong. :huh: I'll have to try and keep a better eye on him, but is probably happens at night or while I'm at work.

I've just admitted to being 54yrs old in 2wks time but still not as old as you!!

Mine has not bought my pH down, I wish it would :rolleyes: . I think if you have a fairly large piece it may. Mine still leaches a little into the water although it's getting better, soaked it for 2weeks before putting into the tank.

Oh shame yours was not so lucky :sad: . I'll certainly be extra careful in the future.
