Is he getting thin too? Most of the fin rot could be caused by the other fish picking on him cos he's ill. He might have worms - which are common in guppies. You need to be careful that the rest of your fish don't have worms. How long have you had him?

Yeah - I agree that comet and common goldfish are the best. We have some in our pond they have lived for over three years and grown quite large. One word of advice I would give you is if the pond freezes over - don't break the ice. That just stresses out the fish. We lost some fish a few...

Thanks for this advice. I bought some bogwood a week and a half ago and was worried I'd have to keep soaking it for a month, but this method worked really well. After a week of doing this method with the boiling water in the bucket, the wood has now gone in my tank and so far it's fine.

:blink: That's one expensive fish! I keep thinking of all the things I'd do with that much money - certainly not buy a dead fish! I wonder how they will cook it? It might be cooked whole and displayed with the head still on. I've eaten fish in China like that.
