    Feather Duster Question

Hey, I bought a feather duster yesterday and while putting it in the tank I accidentially hit the tip of it against a rock. Now the opening if folded in on itself and there is no opening. I have obviously damaged it but my question is will if heal itself and open or will it just die due to the...

yeah I would add some more to your CUC. I have more then that in my 14G, try to get some different varieties of snails and a few more blue legs, ....I think they reccomend 1 cleaner per gallon, I may be wrong on that number tho.

    3g Pico Start-up

Yeah the light heats up but the tank temp seems to be stable....I wonder if it helps that I have a glass top on the tank? It definately is keeping evaporation under control tho.

    Marine Ich Cure

Iam currently having a problem with ich, my best recomendation is to setup a hospital tank and use a copper based med. for 3 weeks, I have my clown in the hospital and he is completely free of the white spots, I also tried the FW dips but the spots always came back. Not a big fan of using any...

    30 Gallon Nano Reef Diary

I wouldn't put the bioballs in as they can be a nitrate trap. Also for a 30G you'll need some more LR...usually 1-2 lbs per gallon I tend to be on the higher side as this will be your main source of filtration. Good luck and keep us updated! How deep is that sand bed?

    Nanos

I went with a 14G cube for my first marine, been running for about 5 months now and its easier then I thought it would be. My biggest advice is to do alot of research before hand though. learning as you go will cost you as I'm sure you have seen the prices of marine stuff. There are lots of good...

    3g Pico Start-up

Thanks for the reply's, as for your quesstions: 1) No filter, just the LR in the tank should do as there will only be a few inverts. 2)The light is sitting on a glass top and so far the temp is staying right at 77, they had a longer light when I bought that one that could have been raised off...

    3g Pico Start-up

Well, the tank finally settled so I took a few pics...I just added a 25w heater today and the temp is now steady at 77 and the sg is 1.025, I haven't checked the other params yet. I've been doing some research on other picos any thinking about what I might put in it. possibly sexy shrimp, nass...

    3g Pico Start-up

Well, as for now it's in the tank...it's a 3G long so it's really not too bad in the tank. But I may take it out and run some plumbing instead. Definately need a heater as I found out when I looked at the temp this morning. Just waiting for it to settle then I'll post some pics!

one of my clowns seems to have ich, I have a product called NOX-ICH that says it is ok for saltwater, just wondering if it will be ok for the corals and inverts? Or is there a better way to treat this problem. thanks!

.:: Black Long Spined Urchin ::.

I have a long spine urchin in my 14G, I keep them for awhile and when they start to get too big I trade him in on a baby. The only complaint is that they eat coraline algae, but other then that they are a really cool addition to a tank!

    Filter Question

To those of you with biocubes...do you leave in the filter cartridge or take it out and just have LR? Just curious if this filter would be a nitrate trap as mine has been sitting around 20ppm for the last week and water changes only lower it temporally. Thanks!!

    What To Do?

Just keep adding corals! I think a nice fox or green brain would look good. Something that is a little bigger perhaps.

    Urchin Question

I've had mine for about 2 months, I took him back and got a baby one last week as he got too big. I think after this one gets bigger I will take him back and that will be the end of urchins for my tank. I really like having him in there though...really neat! Thanks for the link.

    Urchin Question

Is it a big problem if they eat coralline algae?
  37. S

    Captive Raised Clowns

I would have to disagree, mabye not as likely as a wild caught but they still will, I have an oscelaris and he hosts a fox coral in my tank

    Urchin Question

I heard that long spine urchins eat coralline algea. Is this true? I've noticed that there does seem to be less since I added one to my tank. thanks.
