Fishless Cycle Just Completed. Next Step...90% Water Change. But it takes 24-48 hours for PH to settle. So it will be one or two days before I can add fish. Will my bacteria die during that time without an ammonia source. Or do I need to keep feeding it from the bottle of ammonia.

Thanks for the feedback. I already own a Penguin 100. So I was hoping to use that. But, if that doesn't work out, I will look into the powerheads. Would running a 200 and 100 in the same 29 gallon create too strong of a current?

I tested my tap water for ammonia with the Red Sea test kit and got a reading somewhere between .25 and .5. I added some Seachem Neutral Regulator (which removes ammonia) and got about the same reading. Is my test kit bad.

I did not seed the tank with media because I don't have a reliable source. I was thinking about adding a potted plant or two. But, I was really hoping the Bio Spira would seed the tank. I did a liquid test for nitrite. It is at 0.1 ppm.

I was thinking about two schools. But, many people have told me that the bigger the school, the more they will school. With 6 each, I've read it is less likely they will actually demonstrate schooling behavior.
