Well I spent all night getting it set up and now its done!! Cant wait to get some fishes in. Gonna try and find ammo tomorrow so I can start the cycle. Got some pics but they didnt come out too good kinda purple and Enjoy!! I will keep you all posted on the fishless cycle!!

anyone know how to calculate the amount of gravel needed for a tank. The dimensions are 36X18. Just curios how many pounds would get me about an inch of gravel.

I would say adding 3 more swords would be fine. My only concern is the cat and the pleco. They both will out grow the tank in no time and place a very heavy bio load on the tank. The pleco should be in a minimum of 50 gallons but will even outgrow that. They can reach sizes up to 2 feet in length

Hello I currently have a fluval 404 on my 55 gallon tank. I found a place to get cheap ac 500's and was thinking about adding two to my tank. Would 2 AC 500's and a fluval 404 canister be better than 2 fluval canisters? I havnet stocked the tank yet but was cosidering convicts.

Anyone know the dimensions of the Aquaclear 500. I am curious if I can fit two on a 36 inch tank in addition to a fluval 404 intake tube and outtake tube and a heater. Anyone use this filter is it as noisy as some people say it is? Is the penguin or emp 400 a better model?

i would recomend the fluval 304 and the use of a good power filter like the aquaclear 500. It is very inexpensive like 28 US. It really moves the water and helps lessen the load on the fluval.

before doing any chemical treatments try filling the tank with water. Most scratches look much worse when the tank is dry but when filled the seem to go away... Give it a shot and let us know how it turns out Good luck! :D
