Heres a simple solution:
1. Get a 10 gallon tank with filter ect ect
2. Steal 10 gallons from the main tank and some gravel from the main tank
3. wait 2 days its ready for fish
Its not smart to put the female in a breeder too much stress and they hardly ever stay down there just let the female have babies and fish the babies out there is much more chance of surviving if you have pletly of floating plants. Plus it takes 2-4 hours before the females can eat again so...
just like humans some are active some are shy. If it eats fine i wouldnt worry about it, but I agree with cycling with fish that way its natrually and safely done.
jeeze why does everyone hate algea it looks awesome. anyway there are tons of brackishplants. who the hell would say there is none. Mangroves, moss all the good stuff
i washed it like 30 times. havent noticed any bugs yet. Doing daily water changed. I put it in a bag put water sloshed it around a ton did it tons of times
1 inch per gallon my ass. iv gotten 120 mollies to live in 10 gallons for a year till i could afford my 55 gal. Sold some of them. its just like using the crap what per gallon rule its old, outdated, useless, and for lazy people who cant clean the tank more often
Mollies and plecos do the trick. For plecos you need to float the bag for 30 minutes, add a table spoon of the tank water into the bag, 30 minutes later do the same thing then relase it. and like magic youve converted a fresh water fish to brakish
DO NOT USE ICECUBES they will kill your fish, Not only is it a rapid change. Its full of chlorine (depening where you live
). Just buy a cooler there expensive tho, Or just use a fan ABOVE the tank to insure equal temratures
If you cant boil it this is what did put it in your tub till about 10 gallons is in it put the wood in it. Put 1 gallon of clorine and let it sit for 5 minutes. Wash the wood for a long time. Then drown the wood underwater for an hour or so repeat this. Boom, nice clean wood. Some steps you can...
Despite nitrates being harmless to fish just do a 20% water change dont go over 30 or else youll have to do the WHOLE cycle again, Or just plant the tank with ALOT of plants
If you get an Awesome quality filter like AuqaClear filters its fine, If you think about it 3 inches per gallon is not that much you can do 2 inches per gallon also. if you have a disaster simply put the fishes in bags...
Why the hell do people bother with speeding the cycle. Just have a fish in there and it will do itself. But also buy bacteria and you can speed it up that way.
jesus, the advice you hear. Add ammona lol. Iv been working on fishes for 7 years of my life. Run your filter for 48 hours make sure levels are fine (buy a test kit) Add no more then 4 HARDY fish. see how it goes
It could be easily pulled off with arlic cant spell or Fiber glass.
1 problem if the water lines arent even it will start gussing rapidly to the other tank and you would have wasted all your time
