You could add an ice cube (make the you dechlorinate the water before you freeze it, if the water you use for the tank is chlorinated) Or you could put the ice in a bag and let the bag float so the ice cube doesn't mess up your water :)

Do they typically get along? BTW, my gourami is a dwarf gourami!
