You say you have 15w but over how many gallon, over 5G that's 3 WPG but over say 100G that's not much. Regardless, I have Java Moss in about 2WPG, and it took a bit before it really started to attach even then it's a slow creeper in my experience. I have had mine for easily for a few months now...

Are there any large polygamous/colony fish? This is true. In a planted tank small cichlids/fish would get lost within all the brush. Although I love a planted tank a setup that large just won't be feasible.

Why not do Dwarf Cichlids in a 29G? You can have a nice community setup with Rams/Keyhole Cichlids.

What would be some good mates for 4-5 Firemouths in a 125G? Would Rummy Nose Tetras, Keyhole Cichlids, and German Rams work? What tank mates would be good, I'd really like a school of something in there among a few other fish?

Nothing looks more natural than a planted tank nor prettier. If you believe this is a route you'd like and don't mind shelling out the cash head over to the planted section and start reading.

I wanted to ask, these 48" Current USA 4x65w, do their bulbs run across the whole length of the tank? If so I can just run 3 bulbs instead of 4, correct?

Are you trying to say to say something along these lines. Having the front two bulbs on for a few hours, then all bulbs on for a few hours, then back to just two bulbs before everything goes offline? My questions with that is it even possible to do that, and how will the plants react to that...

You could do it using Walstad's method. Checkout her book, she uses topsoil as a substrate and natural sunlight in combination with artificial light.

The plant in the fourth picture from the top. The one with white outlines doens't seem to be aquatic to me. Besides that get a full tank shot so we can see the scape.

Are you sure it's browning and not algae? This sounds weird because Anubias are hardy plants.
