I completely agree with you, I didn't think it was a good idea for them to be doing this. I think they have done it with other species too, not sure tho. I don't like using them much, they are part of a garden centre pet section, and don't have much choice on tropicals :no:

My LFS sells guppies that have "gradually had their water temperature lowered so that they can be kept in a coldwater tank". Do any other places do this? My other 3 LFS's don't. :fish: I don't have a coldwater tank, but I am just interested to know. :P

How big are the babies? Adult daphnia can be quite big, so a small fry wouldn't be able to eat it

At least one of my guppies is pregnant, and I want to try and keep some of the fry, but the breeding net I have will take up a lot of space in my tank, it is only 20 litres (I don't know how much that is in gallons) will this stress out my other fish because there won't be so much room? :fish:

The stuff Rosierabbit is refering to is Tetra Fresh Delica, you can get daphnia, bloodworm and brine shrimp all mushed up into this kind of jelly in little orange sachets, there are about 24 in the pack. Good stuff, my fish go wild over it. You could also feed live daphnia, my fish love that...

Do you know why the 1st female died? and also why the 2nd one died?

Would it not be a good idea to separate the troublesome molly from the other fish before he does any more damage?

I have a similar thing, I just bought 4 female guppys and 2 males, they were in separate tanks in the shop but now I have them together in my tank and all 4 of the females have a dark spot even though they haven't been with males very long. How do I know if they are actually pregnant?

I found a tetra one that tests PH, Carbonate Hardness, General Hardness, Nitrite and CO2. I'd have to buy a separate Ammonia one. Does this sound ok?

I think it was just old age, I'm not sure though. He was fine, then one day he went really pale, I put some medication in to try and boost him, but he died the next day. :-( All my other fish are fine, so I don't think it was the water
