They are dalmaiton mollies. They were bred at the local fish store in a brackish tank but were moved into a fresh tank a few days ago. I went ahead and added a tablesoon of salt, I have a couple danios that are not looking well and I though maybe the salt will help some.

I have a 25 gallon tank with 6 mollies, 2 swords and 5 danios. I've been reading that the mollies really prefer salt and need to know if the danios will be able to tolorate the added salt? I suppose I can always rehome the danios if need be but I really like having them.

I am setting up a 29 gallon planted tank, I want to use some plants out of my small betta tank but they are covered in snails. Is there anyway to kill the snails without harming the plants? All the plants at the LFS have snails too.

You could always get a plastic tub, around 20-25 gallon to put the goldfish in for awhile. I have a 20 gallon tub with water lillies and various other pond plants and 2 goldfish on my deck. Once the fish get too big for the tub (this fall) they will go back to the LFS.

Quick update on the boys. The rot has stopped on Twister, he is eating again and looking not too bad. Ghost still looks bad. I don't think he ever had rot since his fins are still intact but the ick is terrible on him. It is getting better but hes not eating at all. I have blood worms...

So far they look ok. I cleaned their tank up, added the melafix and everything is filtering right now. I used water from my main tank since I know its good. Hopefully they will get better soon. I'll keep you all updated.

I have well water but with all the rain its possible that there is something wrong with it. I have some prime already, just added some to their cups. Can I use any kind of bottled water? that way I know the water is clean? Thanks for the advice and support:)

Thanks, I moved their plants around some. I'll try to find something else to block their view of each other. I though it was healthy for males to flare at each other? Thats why I divided the tank. Now I'm confused :-(
