Your gonna need to upgrade your tank IMO to at least 75 gallons cuz black ghost knives get around 24 inches. Check out this post on them. Black Ghost Knife

I know that that figure 8's and spotted are brackish, and dwarfs are freshwater. The pet stores don't know what they are talking about usually

I was just wondering cuz at my LFS they are in a tank with large gouramis and none of the gouramis have nipped fins.

I google searched both of them but i couldn't tell the difference, how can u tell?

He could put angelfish in there because he only has gold barbs. Gold barbs are like cherry barbs and not really fin nippers. But if he had tiger barbs that would be a whole different story.

U can't keep a fire eel in there, they get too big. But the LFS don't know what they are talking about ive heard them seeling bala sharks to be kept in 10 gallon with normal plecos. Seen people buy oscars for ten gallons. Trust me don't rely on the LFS's info.

You should definately go for German Blue Rams :D

I think u could get cardinal tetras with your angels, cardinals are bigger than neons and i've had good experiences keeping them together.

I bought my bogwood presoaked kinda expensive though. But would really help it they put snail remover in, right now i'm having a snail problem.

I say the only fish u could keep are angelfish. Silverdollars might be ok but 40 UK is kind of small for a school of silver dollars.

First off how bigs is your tank, but try to get a fish that won't fit into its mouth , and don't get a fish like tiger barbs that would nip the angels fins.

Lighting I got 2 20 Watt Floraglo lights, then in the back i have a 36' bulb that is about 40 watts. My lights give me a littlte under 2 WPG, so i don't need a co2 system. Also use plant fertlizer and do weekly water changes. Thanks for the advice so far everyone

Just wondering if they swell up with eggs before they drop. I noticed that the female looks sort of bloated. But if thats true counldn't i put it into like a bowl or something with marble substrate and let it drop the eggs there?
