The tank size is 110 litres. I have an external eheim 2211 with a spray bar but it gives almost no water movement.

In my 30inch freshwater tank there is almost no water movement, I just have the filter spray bar. Adding a powerhead would obviously improve water circulation but would the fish like it and is it worth considering in a freshwater tank? I have gold barbs, mollies and platies. Thanks.

Well they are doing the same thing again today, i find it hard to tell their sex accurately but it looks like I might only have one male and four females. Two of them have the red/pink colouration now.

I always crush the food up for them. I have some quite small fish and when I feed frozen worms I try to cut them up as they end up sticking out of there mouths as they are too big. My fish seem to like the red flakes more than any of the others and ofter spit out food.

I dont really have a strict schedule but then in FW its not quite as import as SW. I do a water change,plant trim and clean the algae every week give or take a few days but the levels are always fine so i'm sure it would go longer without a problem.

Mines the plain blue too I might try that tonight and report back.

I think I might add a blue tube for daytime use first as I feel it will give a really nice look to the tank like the marine tanks have. Then may go for the moonlight tubes? My concern is my hood isn’t much good at housing more than more one tube so i'll have to see what I can do or get a new hood.

I've never seen any moonlights on a FW tank, got any pictures? Where did you order them from chris? Moonlights are another idea.

I'm researching into a marine tank and they have a blue as well as a white fluorescent tube. I was wondering if anyone uses a blue tube on there freshwater tropical tank?

Thanks for the reply princess, I'm not sure what VHO, PC or T5 fluorescents are so more research for me! Although the tank I have in mind will contain only live rock and fish at least at this stage of planning.

Thanks for your reply LL. The unusual behaviour only lasted for about two hours they are back to normal now. Only one of them has a very clear reddish/pinkish colouration on the lower flank and this fish is a bit smaller so I think its a male.
